The CEN is an interdisciplinary and collaborative network aimed at fostering a space for dialogue and knowledge exchange between various practice-based open source intelligence, media forensic, and nonfiction media groups, collectives, and individuals involved in exposing human rights violations and other forms of corporate and political violence. We aim to facilitate dialogue and expertise sharing among various groups in the field, focusing more broadly on understanding the media evidentiary landscape, developing collaboration, and addressing knowledge and resource gaps. We also aim to promote a critical reflection on current working practices and methodologies, aiming to promote more solidarity-based modes of investigation that involve impacted communities and shift embedded understandings of justice and accountability.
